Erica founded SweetRoots Kitchen, a social enterprise that provides healthy cooking workshops for ages 8-18, to share her love of cooking, creating, and caring for our planet with the next generation.

She is a self-taught baker and chef who began her food blogging journey during her freshman year of high school. Through her blog, Cannella Vita, she learned how to whip up a proper buttercream, but more importantly, she learned more about the origins of our food, the impact that our food choices have on the environment and our health, and how empowering the creative process of cooking can be for a young person.

In January 2019, Erica was named a Napier Fellow for her work with SweetRoots Kitchen.  The Napier Fellowship is an award for students who have proven the ability to give leadership in social change and are proposing a project they would like to carry out immediately after graduation.
